Q1 I need health insurance, do you know of a good cheap plan? I am looking into a few now but wondered if you knew of any. “Good cheap health insurance” are words that can’t be put in the same sentence. However, CAI does have two companies that other missionaries use. Talent Trust (www.talent-trust.com) and IMG (www.imglobal.com). When I was living in France I used IMG. Check out their websites to get quotes. We also have a group plan with IMG, but it typically is much more expensive. Contact Lauri in the US office for those rates.

2 Can health insurance come direct from our CA account? would there be any tax advantages to doing it this way?\ With Talent Trust that’s no problem. If you end up with an IMG individual plan (as opposed to the CAI group plan), I think you have to pay IMG with a credit card and get reimbursed. VQ seems to treat some of these reimbursements as taxable and some not...so it gets trickier. If you get that far with them, let me know and we’ll work with Keith to get the payment made.
